Slumberland selected for the Big Brother House
Contestants in the final series of Big Brother were able to relax on limited edition mattresses specially manufactured by leading bed brand Slumberland.
Big Brother selected Slumberland because they know that the contestants are well known for their love of sleep. The mattresses have a contemporary look and feature Slumberland’s 1400 pocket springs with a special contour-flow memory foam which encapsulates the mattress giving edge-to edge support. These additions keep the mattress fresh and the contestants extra comfortable and cool through the warm summer months.
There were only 9 of these mattresses which were hand-built by craftsmen at the Slumberland factory in Huntingdon UK. The mixture of kingsize and single mattresses had a limited edition cover along with a specially commissioned label to commemorate the last ever Big Brother event.
Gordon Mitchell, Managing Director of Horatio Myer & Co Ltd, UK manufacturer of Slumberland commented “We were absolutely thrilled that Slumberland was selected to provide the mattresses for this groundbreaking series. We wanted to produce a mattress that was both comfortable and was a celebration of the show. I know that the contestants are going to enjoy many restful days and nights on them throughout the series.”
After the event the mattresses were auctioned off along with all of the furniture from the series. The proceeds from the Slumberland mattresses will go to the Pink Ribbon Foundation as the favoured charity partner for Slumberland.
“It’s great news that there will be a donation to the Pink Ribbon Foundation” said Jonathan Prince, Chairman of the charity. “We are delighted to partner with Slumberland on this innovative project as it helps us to continue the fight against Breast Cancer which is the most common cancer in women worldwide.”
“We are proud to work with the Pink Ribbon Foundation” concluded Gordon Mitchell.
